Fair Usage Policy

1. Purpose

This Fair Usage Policy keeps the DataSerp network fast and reliable for everyone. It applies to all API users and Drone hosts. Continued use of the Service confirms your acceptance of this policy.

2. API throughput and limits

Each plan includes a monthly search allowance and a per-hour throughput limit, shown in the pricing table. Requests must be spread reasonably across the hour and across the month.

We may throttle requests that exceed the throughput limit for a plan, and repeated or sustained over-usage may result in suspension or an enforced plan upgrade.

3. What counts as a search

A search counts against your allowance only when it returns at least one result. Empty result sets are free. Each request returns up to 10 results.

AI token usage is metered separately at the published rates and is not part of the search allowance.

4. Prohibited practices

You must not engage in practices that abuse the Service, including:

• Bursting requests far beyond the stated throughput limits to gain an advantage
• Running concurrent clients that together exceed your plan limits
• Refreshing the same query repeatedly to circumvent limits or inflate usage
• Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing Data or API access without written consent
• Submitting malicious, unlawful or automated spam queries

5. Drone host fair usage

Drone hosts must run the official Drone software only, on devices they are authorised to use.

Hosts must not fake, duplicate or artificially generate searches, and must not interfere with other hosts or the network.

The Drone must not be modified to capture, store or transmit personal or machine data. It only receives and returns search tasks.

Earnings are paid per successful search completed by the Drone. Suspicious activity may result in withheld earnings and removal from the network.

6. Enforcement

We monitor usage for compliance. If you breach this policy we may, at our discretion and with or without notice:

• Issue a warning
• Throttle or rate-limit your access
• Suspend or terminate your account or drone key
• Withhold earnings earned through abusive activity

7. Disclaimers

This policy does not guarantee the availability of the Service, the number of searches, network capacity or any level of earnings. Demand for search tasks and network conditions vary, and earnings from hosting are not guaranteed.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality or usefulness of any data returned by the network, or for how any user or host chooses to use it. All data is provided "as is" and used at your own risk.

We may take any action we consider necessary to protect the network, other users and hosts, including throttling, suspension or removal, in our reasonable discretion.

8. Changes to this policy

We may amend this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, notified through the Service.
